There’s a quote by Susan Cain that states, “Don’t think of introversion as something that needs to be cured. Spend your free time the way you like, not the way you think you’re supposed to”. What I really love about this quote, is that it validates my need to be alone, to spend my free time as I’d like. Yesterday I went out twice, once for some groceries and again for a quick workout. But other than that, I spent the whole day at home. While I was productive (cooking and laundry), I also spent hours reading, catching up on TV shows, and doing absolutely nothing. I loved it.
If I had done this a couple of years ago, I would have felt guilty for “wasting my time”. However, now I’ve embraced this part of being introverted and look forward to my slow and lazy Sundays.
