Quote of the day
A time for thanksgiving
I can’t believe it’s already Thanksgiving again. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and evening! Although Thanksgiving was last month in Canada, I was away at the time and didn’t get to write up a post. So here are a few things I’m thankful for.
1. Family
Things have been pretty rough lately. Not only for myself, but for those I love. But all these things have really brought our family closer together. There’s greater warmth and unity than ever before. I’m so grateful to have these supportive people in my life. And even amidst the tears, frustration, and struggles, there’s always lots of laughter.
2. Friends
I don’t have a lot of friends. Something I’m quite okay with. But those I call friend hold a special place in my heart. We can be in separate countries (one is in the UK and another in Japan) but when we connect, it’s like we were never apart. These are the people I trust. The ones I can be silly with. We share inside jokes and sing along to songs on the radio at the top of our lungs. I’m comfortable with them.
3. My introverted nature
I didn’t always view my introversion as a gift. Being more sensitive, introspective, and quiet often leads to more persecution than praise. But being able to appreciate and see things differently is an amazing ability. To connect on a deeper level. To empathize with and understand others. To see the beauty in things others don’t even notice. This perspective is something that I wouldn’t change for the world. And I’m learning to see it as a gift, rather than a weakness.
What are you thankful for?
